The format of this show holds similarities to an earlier programme called ‘Marchlands’ in that we tell a story through flashbacks in the same house over three different periods of time. In this case 1944, 1976 and 2012. Set in Suffolk it tells of a fire in a haybarn that kills a young teenager, we find out the truth behind the fire through six episodes. We had to change the house and grounds three times and also recreate elements of a 16th Century timber haybarn in a field in Beaconsfield to aid the CGI elements of the fire, we then used the footprint of this barn to show the devastation of the fire and the two remaining time jumps through the use firstly of burnt timbers, charcoal and paint effects and then with crumbled bricks old timbers and overgrown vegetation.
