Mildred Hubble lives an ordinary life with her mum Julie, until the day that Maud Spellbody crashes her broomstick into their balcony and nothing is ever the same again. Maud introduces Mildred to Cackle's Academy - a school for young witches set high on a mountaintop. Under the watchful eye of friendly headmistress Miss Cackle and scary deputy Miss Hardbroom, Mildred begins her training. But no matter how hard she tries, her spells have a habit of going badly wrong, causing chaos. Will Mildred always be The Worst Witch..?

Following on from established sets of the first series, we created a new ‘Art Classroom‘  a new ‘Great Hall’ both within locations with large elements of construction and dressing to make them part of the magical Cackles Academy,  we constructed new bedroom sets for 3 pupils and re vamped sections of the first series corridors to extend and link classrooms. We also created large roof and Ext Academy set pieces, built on a green screen stage for the numerous VFX sequences which involved the young witches flying around on broom sticks and performing with the help of a stunt co-ordinator on wires and harnesses. Aswell as 3 stages with standing sets, we used and adapted buildings and in the grounds of Ashley Hall Cheshire where the show was based,  aswell as locations in Adlington  and Liverpool. Series 3 saw the addition of a large kitchen set within the basement of the school with joining corridors and a spiral staircase.
